History

Techman Engineering Limited was founded on January the 11th 1990 by Jim Middleton, grandson of Isaac Middleton founder of a prominent Derbyshire based engineering company some 50 years earlier, a major supplier to the Nuclear and Defence industries.

Jim established Techman to supply a quality service to the engineering industry, providing a skilled manufacturing base built on earlier experiences with the nuclear industry.

Over the years the company has dealt with many sectors of engineering and associated industries, gaining a reputation as a quality manufacturer offering diverse and varied capabilities with the ability and willingness to flex its resource to suit specific customer requirements.

Techman was acquired in October 2008, by the Schoeller Bleckmann Oilfield Equipment multinational, the market leader in Oilfield tooling manufacture.

With quality approvals from API, ISO, Rolls Royce and the world’s leading oil field companies, and a dedicated 80,000 sq ft facility, Techman Engineering now specialise in the manufacture of oilfield products and tooling, whilst operating widely in many other engineering markets.

Situated centrally within the UK close to all main route ways, our wide range of CNC and conventional machine tools provide a comprehensive plant listing facilitating the boring and machining of non-magnetic alloys, most stainless steels, ferrous and non-ferrous metals with the inclusion of cast products and plastics.
